Shelle Cleveland is president of The Ashley Cleveland Group (ACG), an Organizational Effectiveness and Executive Coaching firm.

Shelle has been a Human Resource professional for 22 years. Her most recent position was Senior Vice President of Human Resources for a global aviation organization. Shelle spent more than 12 years with General Electric, with more than six years as Vice President of Human Resources for two of its businesses – located in Colorado and Arizona.

Shelle has extensive experience in team leadership, talent development, organizational strategy and development, training and facilitation, organizational communications, change management, performance management, retention strategies and executive coaching and development. In her recent senior executive role, she developed and led the HR organization for a newly-formed company as a result of a merger of three aviation businesses, one of which was a GE spinoff.

As SVP of Human Resources, reporting directly to the CEO, Shelle led the people integration activities of the new aviation company, including creating and leading all HR processes, leadership assessment and development processes, change management initiatives, outsourcing, downsizing, recruiting and talent development strategies. She has managed a direct team of up to 30 professionals, and has supported organizations with up to 4,000 employees in over 30 locations.

Shelle has led HR in a variety of organizational climates: growth, acquisitions, integrations, downsizing, rightsizing, spin-offs, start-ups, mergers, private equity-owned, divestitures and Fortune 50. In her role, Shelle supported and coached leadership at all levels of the organization.

Shelle received a B.A. in Communications from Hampton University, Hampton, VA, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, Evanston, IL. She has had extensive, formal executive leadership training at GE’s Jack Welch Leadership Development Center in New York.

Additionally, Shelle has had non-HR assignments with GE in corporate marketing, business development and operations. She is certified in Six Sigma processes, as well.

Shelle is on the Board of Directors for Florence Crittenton Services, Inc, where she serves as Chairperson for the Public Policy and Programs Committee, and is a board member for the Arizona Women’s Education and Employment, Inc. (AWEE). She is a member of the Arizona HR Executive Forum, the National Society of Human Resource Management and the Institute of Management Consultants. Shelle is currently enrolled in the international certification coaching program with the College of Executive Coaching, located in Santa Barbara, CA.
